Manufacturing of Brass Ring Castings for the Wire Manufacturing Industry
At American Precision Services we were contracted by a customer in the Nash pump industry to provide custom wire manufacturing services. The project required the fabrication of expanding outer flange castings as highlighted below. Employing our CNC lathe and mill, we implemented rough and finish turning processes, along with milling techniques including drilling and tapping to meet the specifications as outlined in the supplied 2D CAD drawings. The units were then cleaned and smoothed with a deburring process.
Finished dimensions for the castings were 21.985” in diameter, and 1.594” in height which was verified with comprehensive visual and dimensional inspections. Turnaround time for this project was 2 weeks, with 20 units fabricated for the customer and shipped to Birmingham, AL.
