CNC Precision Milling of Stainless Steel Bearing Housings for the Steel Producing Industry
A customer in the steel producing industry contracted us at American Precision to manufacture the bearing housings highlighted here. Utilizing 304 stainless steel, our CNC lathe, CNC mill, and welding equipment were employed to carry out production, performing precision milling, drilling, tapping, and fabricating processes to form the parts to customer requirements. The tightest tolerance of ± 0.1 mm was achieved during production. The machined housings were deburred for smoothing and cleaning. The bearings housings were then pressure tested, and thoroughly inspected with dimensional, visual, and magnetic particle inspection methods to ensure quality.
Overall part dimensions were 263mm in length, 246mm in width, and 104 mm in height, exhibiting a raw machined finish. Turnaround time for this project was 60 days, and included the fabrication 112 units for the customer with shipping to Burns Harbor, IN.
